Where Does Your Soul Come From? Exploring How the Soul is Created

Hi, I'm Holly, founder of MediSoul Wellness, and welcome back to my blog series all about discovering your human soul!

I'm here to teach you who you are as a soul, and in this post, we're tackling a big question: How is your soul created, and where does it come from? This is the third post in our series, building on our talks about what the soul is and its historical perspectives. Understanding your soul’s origin can light up your path to spiritual soul growth and help you find your soul purpose. Let’s dive into some beliefs about soul creation from different cultures and my own insights, shared in a way that feels like a warm chat with a friend.

Common Beliefs About Soul Creation Around the World

People across time have wondered how souls come to be, and their ideas show how deeply we’ve always cared about our inner essence. Here are a few historical beliefs about soul creation, drawn from ancient cultures and religions:

In Judaism and Christianity, many believe your soul is created directly by God. It’s like a divine spark breathed into you when life begins, joining your body as a sacred gift. This view sees your soul as unique and eternal, made for a purpose here and in the afterlife. It’s a beautiful idea that ties to growing spiritually through faith and kindness.

In Hinduism, over 3000 years old, your soul—called the Atman—isn’t really “created.” It’s eternal, always existing as part of the universal spirit, Brahman. Your soul is like a drop in a vast ocean, moving through lives via reincarnation to learn and grow. This encourages you to see challenges as chances for your soul to evolve.

Buddhism, starting around 500 BCE, has a unique take. It says there’s no fixed soul but a stream of consciousness that flows from one life to the next, shaped by your actions (karma). This energy isn’t made by a god but arises from life’s causes and conditions, guiding you toward enlightenment. It reminds you to live mindfully, knowing your choices shape your spiritual path.

Ancient Egyptians, around 3000 BCE, believed your soul had parts like the Ka (life force) and Ba (personality), created by gods at birth or even before. These parts came from a divine realm and needed care to thrive after death. This view connects your soul to the stars and eternity, sparking awe about your origins.

In ancient Greek philosophy, thinkers like Plato said your soul pre-exists in a perfect realm before entering your body. It’s not newly made but comes from an ideal world, here to learn lessons on Earth. This idea inspires you to seek wisdom and truth to lift your soul higher.

These historical beliefs show a shared wonder: Your soul is more than part of your body—it’s from something bigger, whether a god, eternal energy, or a sacred realm.

What I’ve Learned About Soul Creation Through Meditation

I’ve spent years meditating and learning to astral travel—exploring other places in creation during deep relaxation. You can do this too; it’s not a special gift, just practice. In my journeys, I’ve seen a space where higher beings—like advanced angels, gods, or spiritual entities—create souls. They call this place the Source, but not as one big God. To me, it’s like a vast pool of pure energy that these beings draw from to form souls.

Working with clients in guided meditations and hearing their soul stories, plus my own, I’ve learned souls can be created in different ways. My soul, for example, was made when two high-level spiritual beings joined their palms, merging their energy into a light that became me. I’ve heard similar stories from others. Some souls are pulled straight from the Source and shaped into being.

Who shapes them? Some believe only one God can create souls, and that’s okay if that’s your view. But through my astral travels and talks with beings, I’ve seen multiple gods across universes. Our universe might have one main God, but others have more—like the gods in Viking, Greek, or Roman myths. Even on Earth, ancient stories show many creators. Higher beings can make souls like humans make babies or elementals create more of their kind. It’s all part of creation’s flow.

I don’t claim to know everything—just sharing what I’ve seen. Whether your soul is pulled from the Source or merged by beings, its origin is a beautiful mystery tied to your unique purpose.

Why Knowing Your Soul’s Origin Matters

Exploring these ideas helps you remember you’re a soul with a deep human soul origin, here for spiritual soul growth. It can lift you out of feeling lost and guide you toward healing, like it did for me with my past traumas and health struggles. Knowing your soul comes from a sacred place—whether God, the Source, or an eternal realm—reminds you that you’re here for a reason.
