What Is Your Energy

You are not just a physical body. Beneath the skin and bones, you are made of energy. Every culture throughout human history has known this, and each one gave it a name. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, it's called Chi or Qi. In the Hindu and yogic traditions of India, it's called Prana. In Japan, it's called Ki. These are all different words for the same thing: the life force energy that flows through every living being and keeps you alive.

This isn't a spiritual theory. It's the energy that runs your body, powers your organs, and keeps every system functioning. Think of it like a river flowing through you. When that river moves freely, you feel healthy, clear-headed, balanced, and full of energy. When it slows down or gets blocked, things start to break down. You feel tired, foggy, emotionally off, or physically unwell. In Chinese medicine, illness is understood as disruption to this flow. The goal of practices like acupuncture, Qigong, and Reiki is simply to get the energy moving freely again.

Your energy doesn't stop at the edge of your skin. It extends outward from your body in all directions as a field of energy called the aura. Your aura is the energetic version of you, and it's constantly interacting with the world around you. When you stand next to another person, your auras are overlapping. When you walk into a building, your aura is already absorbing the energy of that space before you've taken two steps inside. When you're in a crowd, you are swimming in everyone else's energy whether you realize it or not.

This is where the problem starts. Not all energy is clean. Buildings hold the energy of everything that has ever happened inside them. People carry the weight of their emotions, their pain, their stress, and their intentions. Locations with violent or traumatic histories are soaked in that energy. Spirits and entities exist in the same energetic space you do, and some of them attach to people who are unprotected. When negative energy gets into your aura, it disrupts that free-flowing river. Your life force slows down. Your mood shifts. Your health suffers. Your thoughts get heavier. Most people don't connect what they're feeling to where they've been or who they've been around, but the energy they picked up is exactly the cause.

It can go further than just feeling drained or off. If a spirit or entity attaches to your energy field, it travels with you. It can follow you into your home. Over time, what started as a brief encounter in a grocery store or an old building can turn into a haunting, because you unknowingly gave that energy a ride. This is not a rare or extreme scenario. It happens to unprotected people regularly, and most of them have no idea why their environment suddenly feels heavy or why things in their life start going sideways.

Protecting your energy is how you stop all of that. When your aura is shielded, outside energy doesn't get in. Your life force keeps flowing the way it's supposed to. You stay clear, healthy, and in control of what you carry.
